  1. What is the Electricity Vending System (EVS)?

  2. The EVS combines smart metering technologies with e-payment platforms to allow residents to monitor, control and manage their air-conditional (AC) usage within their individual premises at University Town (UTown).


  3. How do I top-up EVS credits?

  4. EVS credits could be purchased from the following:

    - EVS website accepts Credit Card and Debit cards. The website URL address is https://nus-utown.evs.com.sg

    EVS Credits will be sent shortly after purchasing


  5. How do I monitor?

  6. Residents can login to EVS website to monitor AC credits.


  7. What should I do if the meter does not reflect the credit I have just purchased?

  8. The credit information will automatically be stored in your EVS smart meter shortly after the purchase. If you do not see the information after 1 hour, you can call the EVS Hotline 82999655.


  9. What will happen if I have forgotten to purchase sufficient EVS credits?

  10. A notification would be sent through Email and SMS when the AC credits falls below a leftover value of $5 and the next day after 0900 hours, if there are no new top-up received. To avoid disruption to AC usage, do perform timely top-up of the AC credit when the notification is received.
    Once the EVS credit is totally depleted, the air-conditioner would stop running til the account is top-up once again. The supply will be restored shortly after top-up of EVS credit. In the event of overdue amount in the account, this amount shall be payable by the resident occupying the unit for the applicable semester period.


  11. What will happen if I have remaining credits in the EVS account upon check-out and closure of account?

  12. NUS has a NO refund/cancellation/transfer policy for the student housing air-con credits. Individual users are encouraged to monitor the top up and usage amount.
